P-CAD 2004 SP1 What’s Fixed In This Release
The following issues have been fixed in the P-CAD 2004 SP1 Release:
PCB Issues
Several issues concerning connectivity have been addressed:
- An unexpected condition occurred when attempting to route a net that was connected to a plane. This no longer occurs.
- When two surface-mount components were collocated but on opposite sides of the board, any pads in the same net incorrectly appeared to be routed. No connection line was displayed and DRC failed to catch the unrouted section. The pads are no longer considered connected in this case.
- A similar problem occurred with copper pours: partial routes underneath copper pours of the same net, but on different layers, were considered routed. This has also been fixed.
Several additional issues have been addressed in other areas:
- Add To Net to component sub-object caused an unexpected condition. Component sub-objects other than pads cannot be added to a net, this was incorrectly allowed in P-Cad 2004. This has been fixed such that only pads can be added to a net when part of a component.
- NC Drill format comment previously stated "2:2". It now correctly changes to 2:4 or 4:2 for either Imperial or Metric settings.
- Trace Cleanup previously merged lines at a T-junction of three tracks when one of the lines was of a different width than the other two. The tracks would then be considered unrouted. Now if the scenario noted above is encountered, the tracks are not merged.
- An unexpected condition occurred while running Advanced Route in a situation where a via was being pushed with Plow set to High and Glossing was Strong. This no longer happens.
- In Advanced Route, loop removal could cause routes to be moved to non-orthogonal orientations when routing between two hanger tracks. Advanced Route loop removal no longer produces odd angled routes between hanger tracks
- DRC was incorrectly flagging Board Edge Clearance violations when tracks were routed near the board edge. It was using the inside edge of the board outline instead of the center line. DRC now correctly uses the center line of the board edge
- An option has been added to the NC Drill output for specifying if format comments should be output with the file. This setting defaults to off so no comments are output. This fixes the problem of third party programs not handling the comments in the NC Drill files.
- The Pattern field in the Pattern tab of the Component's Selection Mask has been restored.
Miscellaneous Issues
- DBX32.bas has been updated to match with Dbx32.dll. This was the cause of TGetFirstSelectedItem and TGetNextSelectedItem functions failing to return correct data. These functions now work correctly.
